Worth Lewallen, Director of Music

Worth Lewallen, a native of Florence, SC, moved to Columbia in 2014 to pursue undergraduate studies in Music Education and Violin Performance at the University of South Carolina. He then moved to Ireland to study Irish Cultural Heritage at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, where he first encountered the Catholic faith. Upon returning to the U.S. to continue graduate studies in Music and Administration, Worth began the process of converting from Methodism to Catholicism through St. Joseph's OCIA program. He was welcomed into the Church at the 2019 Easter Vigil under the guidance of Msgr. Harris, Mrs. Nettie Taylor, and many others.

Worth is proud to return to St. Joseph's, the parish that graciously opened its doors to him, to give back through his musical talents. Currently, he is furthering his education in Choral Conducting at the University of South Carolina and considers himself a lifelong learner.
